Background
Based in Vancouver, British Columbia, Moving Images Distribution's
roots lie within the independent film and video community. During the
1970s, a group of talented young Canadian filmmakers began developing
ways to increase the profile of their work. Their vision resulted in the
formation of Canadian Filmmakers Distribution West, now known as
Moving Images Distribution. Since opening in 1979, the organization
has flourished under its committment to promoting Canadian independent
productions.
