"The Jerry Cans" are a modern musical group from Iqaluit, Nunavut. They reflect a strong Inuit culture in folk and country music with its lyrics in Inuktitut and its inclusion of traditional throat singing. Core to their identity is a relationship with the land and hunting for food, the seal in particular.

Sealing serves as a sharing paradigm that involves family and social networks. Dear PETA explores how this traditional Indigenous worldview conflicts with that of urban Southerners and animal rights groups such as PETA, in its belief that killing of animals is morally wrong.
