“Some projects are just meant to be”, says director Scott Renyard. “A chance meeting with Steve Allen, the owner of Kino Café in the spring of 2019, instigated by producer Jon Ornoy quickly led to the creation of a theme comedy night for the environment.

Acting on the recommendations of Steve and his business partner Laura, a meeting was held with several up and coming comics from the Vancouver area. This led to a series of meetings that went into preproduction right away. Within 3 months, the dates were set and the film was underway. The turnaround, at least for the shooting part of the film was very quick. The post production, however, took much longer mostly due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Host Steve Allen is a veteran comic and enjoyed taking shots at the comics he was introducing calling Stuart Jones a “nerd” and K.C. Novak “trash” because she is also American. Alannah Brittany thought Steve called her “fat” when he actually said “fact lady”.

Stuart Jones suggested Steve was a “dirty fracker”. Steve later claimed he was not the Steve… Jones was referring to.

Patrick Mahliha, during the middle of his set, turns the audience, suggesting that “He’s not doing well” because he’s working for The Green Channel. Director Renyard liked it so much it became a key part of the advertising campaign.

The huge list of thank you’s in the credits are mostly folks that came to see the free live show.
